In today’s post, Jordan Frey and I discuss the importance of mindset in making your success a reality.

This post comes to you today via the PhREI Network. In it, Jordan Frey from the Prudent Plastic Surgeon talks about one of my favorite topics: mindset. He tells the story of how a change in mindset allowed him to gain mastery over his money. He also makes the great point that a strong mindset in one area of your life doesn’t guarantee a strong mindset in all areas.
I liken his experience with my growth as a real estate investor. I’d estimate it took me about a year to gain a deeper understanding of personal finance and the mindset that I was a competent investor. But learning the ropes and confidence for real estate investing really took about two years of learning, grit, and trial and error.
Now, I’m of the mindset that if I continue plugging away, my real estate portfolio will buy we financial freedom in the next 5-10 years.
Take it away Jordan!

Success is all about mindset, rather than action. Ok fine, it’s both. But mindset really comes first.
Mindset is the way that you view the world, it is the “story” that you tell yourself.
It is not engrained or a decision that you make in a moment.
It is something that needs training.
So many of us have an unhealthy mindset.
I did, and admittedly sometimes I still do, it takes constant work.
For example, I told myself for a long time that I could not manage my own money and I never did until recently– this was unhealthy.
I also however told myself that I could become a doctor and a plastic surgeon, no matter how competitive – and I did this despite innumerable roadblocks and defeats that could have stopped me, but I never even considered letting them.
How could I have such a terrible mindset in one area of my life and such a good mindset in another?
It’s complicated. I don’t know the answer. But I can tell you that the results were based pretty much solely on mindset. I know this because changing my mindset led to me and Selenid managing our own money. And making more money.
Like I said, mindset is what will lead us to our results – good or bad.
The old saying is so true, whether you believe you can or cannot do it, you are right!
That is why I think it is so important to begin by learning about mind set and the important role it plays in our happiness, well-being, health, and success.
In fact, your buy-in and the decision to grow a healthy mindset will set you up to take massive action and to achieve amazing success that you likely didn’t even think possible in the days, months, and years to come!
I completely agree with Jordan that a healthy mindset is the single most important determinant of success. An unhealthy mindset will set you up for failure. Even with limited resources, time, or money, a healthy mindset will help you find the path to success.
