The PPhREI Network

For the first part of our roundup, I’d like to mention that the PPhREI Network is the same, yet different. After the successful virtual real estate investor conference in late January, we decided to widen the focus of the group. Instead of being just for physicians and spouses, it’s not open to professionals as well! This was reflective of the wide demand we saw in the real estate investing conference.

We hope the new blood will add a great diversity of opinion and energy to the group.

Carpe Diem MD

In this post, Ian Cook goes over the 5 things you should consider when purchasing a short term rental:

  • Location, location, location
  • Would you want to stay there?
  • Uniqueness
  • Room for improvement
  • Ease of building a team

I found the discussion very insightful and full of great points.

The Darwinian Doctor

In this post, I reflected on what I learned from co-hosting a 1400 person virtual real estate investing conference (along with Carpe Diem MD and the Prudent Plastic Surgeon). Here were my conclusions:

  1. Doctor and professionals are hungry for alternative income
  2. See one, do one, teach one applies to everything in life
  3. Collaboration and masterminds are an important key to progress

The Prudent Plastic Surgeon

In this post, Jordan Frey goes over his recommendation for the best 3 side gigs for resident physicians. He recommends:

  • Stock market investing (the right way)
  • Paid medical surveys
  • Real estate investing

I’m a huge fan of #3, obviously! But could I have done it as a resident? I’m not sure.
