Carpe Diem MD

In this classic post from Ian Cook, MD, we hear about the risks of creator burnout. As a longtime blogger and newer video creator, I’ve experienced this first hand. It turns out that putting out content every week (or more) can be pretty mentally exhausting!

The Darwinian Doctor

This past week, I released my quarterly update on my real estate empire. This last post was a special occasion, as it marked 4 years since the birth of my rental empire. A lot of things have changed since then, but I’d say that the biggest change has been in my knowledge of the ins and outs of real estate investing.

In this update, I discuss 3 potentially modifiable factors that can make a huge difference in your profitability: insurance, property taxes, and lending terms. I also spend some time discussing what’s going on with our short term rentals and what’s coming next.

The Prudent Plastic Surgeon

In the marquee post, Dr. Jordan Frey spends some time dissecting the perfect percent of your portfolio to expend on international stocks. He also goes into the science of why he recommends this percentage, and why he doesn’t follow his own advice!

As someone whose portfolio is overweight with real estate, I don’t own much international stock. But once I’ve achieved my cash flow goals and deleverage back into stocks, I’ll certainly keep this all in mind!
