In this philosophical post, Ian Cook reviews some of the common ethical dilemmas you might face as a long term real estate investor. These include the ethics of raising rents and tenant displacement.
He contrasts this with short term rental, which doesn’t have the same issues of tenant displacement. He does admit, however, that STRs present some ethical issues as well. For example, there are concerns that short term rentals take housing units away from families and inflate housing costs.

In this model, you can contribute money towards a deal as a limited partner. The general partners and the sponsor then use the money to purchase a property on behalf of the whole group.
