In this always relevant post, Ian Cook, MD discusses the ethical concerns surrounding real estate investing. I’ve definitely run into these myself, both in my internal dialogue and on social media. While I maintain that real estate investors provide an essential service and are by and large ethical, I’m sure there are some bad eggs out there. I think the majority of people criticizing the ethics of real estate investing may be losing the forest for the trees.

The Prudent Plastic Surgeon
In this post, Jordan Frey, MD gives us a wonderful overview of the various types of investment accounts available in the US. From the ubiquitous 401k to the less common types like cash-balance plans, there are a lot of places to grow your wealth.
He discusses arranging these various accounts into an “investment waterfall,” in which you fill up the most tax advantaged accounts first. Next, your money can go to the next best account, and so forth.
